Booking for weapons/ammunition (Sporting/hunting Guns) shall be accepted in accordance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and packed in a separate bag

The following procedures/restrictions apply – and such information must be provided 72 hours prior to flight:

  • Pre booking for the carriage of weapons/sporting/hunting guns must be obtained through TUS Airways Call Centre at [email protected]
  • Weapons are not permitted within passenger checked baggage
  • Weapons permitted for transportation shall be packed in a separate weapons case and presented during check-in and then carried in the aircraft hold
  • Weapons of war are not accepted for carriage
  • Unloading the weapon and suitable packaging are the responsibility of the passenger
  • Any ammunition permitted for transportation must be packed separately from the weapon
  • Ammunition must be packed in a strong container made of wood‚ metal‚ or fibreboard box
  • Ammunition must be protected‚ inside the container against shock and secured to avoid movement during flight
  • The total weight of ammunition for sporting purposes cannot exceed 5 kilos (including packaging) per passenger
  • All related documentation required by the departure and arrival point authorities‚ are the responsibility of the passenger
  • Charges payable at the airport EUR55/USD60 will apply per weapon
  • Passengers should fill the following form : Carriage of Firearms and or Ammunition.

Carriage of Musical Instruments must be booked in advance through the TUS Airways Call Centre

Musical instruments may be transported either as checked-in baggage or cabin baggage

Carriage of Musical Instrument as Checked baggage:

Musical instrument/s will be treated and charged as checked baggage and the relevant charges will apply. Musical instruments loaded in the holds should be properly packed in a hard case. A limited release tag will be presented for signature at the check-in agreeing that the musical instrument is being carried entirely at your own risk.

It is recommended to buy specialist travel insurance to cover your musical instrument prior to travel.

Carriage of Musical Instrument in the Cabin

A musical instrument can be carried in the cabin instead of the normal trolley bag if it complies with the cabin baggage dimensions 55 x 40 x 23cm and maximum weight 8kgs and the relevant trolley baggage charges are paid.

Carriage of Musical Instrument on Extra Seat:

A musical instrument may also be carried as an extra seat (max weight 23 kilos and as per below mentioned dimensions) provided that a window seat will be reserved and pre-paid (price will exclude passenger surcharges and taxes – no additional baggage is allowed for this seat).

The musical instrument must be in a case with handle to enable crew to pass the restraints through to secure safely on the seat. If the crew are not satisfied that the musical instrument is safely stowed‚ they will have to place it in the hold.

Any instrument not meeting the above requirements to enable the safe travel in the cabin will not be accepted on board and will have to be accepted as hold baggage and relevant charges applied.

Carriage of Pets in Cabin (PETC) must be booked in advance through the TUS Airways Call Centre 48 hours prior to departure flight.

TUS Airways accepts only small dogs and cats in the aircraft cabin, only one animal per container is accepted


  • The pet must be in a suitable, leak-proof lockable cage/bag.
  • The cage/bag shall have an auxiliary small door through which the animal shall be serviced during the flight
    • The container must not exceed 45cm x 35cm x 23cm and fit under the seat in front of the passenger.
    • The total gross weight of the pet (i.e.‚ including the container) must not exceed 8kgs
    • It is prohibited to place the container with pet near secondary exits, in aisles, and on baggage racks.
    • The animal shall remain inside of the locked container throughout its entire duration on board of the aircraft (during the flight, taxiing, boarding/disembarking, etc.).
    • The cage/bag MUST remain on the floor throughout the flight and at no case can be placed on a passenger seat
    • Passengers travelling with a pet in cabin shall be seated on a window seat‚ not in the first row or on the emergency exit rows. If passengers have made web check-in, TUS reserves the right and may change the seats to accommodate the pet as per its procedures.
    • Animal shall have necessary ID tags and a collar
    • Only one pet in cabin per adult passenger, up to 4 per flight, is allowed and if travelling with an infant‚ you are not allowed to travel with a pet in cabin as well.
    • Carriage of PETS from Unaccompanied minors is not permitted.
    • Pets must be presented at the check in at least 2 hours prior to the flight departure

Health Requirements:

  • Only animals which are in good health and condition and are fit to travel will be accepted for carriage by TUS Airways.
  • Pets must be a minimum of 12 weeks old with a valid anti-rabies vaccination in effect when travelling and with a minimum of 21 days since the last vaccine and shall be a minimum 105 days old to be accepted for travel
  • Pets must be clean‚ odourless‚ healthy‚ harmless and not pregnant
  • It is necessary to declare animal pregnancy or animals which have given birth within the last 48 hours. Pregnant animals will be accepted only with veterinary certificate declaring fit for travel and ensuring that there is no risk of birth during the journey.

Documents Required:

  • Passengers must ensure that they hold all necessary documents required for the transportation of their pet
  • Pets shall be accompanied by valid pet passport for inspection and official documents if required for their destination
  • Pets must be fitted with an ID microchip
  • Proof of veterinary examinations or treatments (e.g. vaccinations, microchipping) have been completed
    • Passengers must check all restrictions/regulations and hold entry permits‚ and other documents required by countries of entry or transit
    • Passengers should visit the website of the respective authorities of their country of destination/transit to ensure compliance

Passengers transporting a guide/assistance dogs must contact TUS Call Centre no later than 48 hours prior to the departure to advise that they intend to transport/be escorted by a guide/assistance dog and make their booking.


TUS Airways may accept only two types of trained guide/ assistance dogs in the aircraft cabin.

  1. Seeing eye dogs trained to lead passengers with impaired vision and
  2. Hearing aid dogs trained to lead passengers with impaired hearing.
  3. Other assistance dogs trained to assist epileptic or autistic passengers may be accepted subject to a number of documents to be presented on request prior any booking being made and which are genuinely stamped/signed by approved authorities/medics.
  4. Passengers are allowed only one guide/assistance dog in the aircraft cabin
  5. The guide/assistance dog must wear a muzzle and is on a leash
  6. In the cabin, your guide/ assistance dog has to be tied to your chair at your feet so as the dog can fit between your feet
  7. The guide/assistance dog shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other passengers, or a threat or disruption to the service in the cabin.
  8. The guide/assistance dog is not allowed to move around in the cabin
  9. All documentation set out in the regulations of the countries you are travelling to and from have to be in your possession and it is your responsibility to ensure these are available and correct as per each Country’s requirements.
  10. The requirements for carriage of pets in cabin mentioned above shall apply also for guide/assistance dogs as well.

Health Requirements:

  • The dog must have been vaccinated against rabies not earlier than a year and not later than a month before the flight
  • Before checking-in‚ your dog must be inspected by the airline to confirm that all the requirements are being met
  • Pets must be clean‚ odourless‚ healthy‚ harmless and not pregnant

Documents Required:

  • Dog shall be accompanied by valid pet passport for inspection
  • Passengers must ensure that regulations in the destination country permit the dog to be transported and enter the country according to local legislation and that the dog complies with all health and hygiene requirements and that they have all the necessary documentation for ownership and transportation
  • Dog must be fitted with an ID microchip
  • Vaccination booklet proving veterinary examinations or treatments (e.g. vaccinations, microchipping) have been completed
  • Passenger must also carry a certificate from their medic confirming their disability
  • Passengers must hold a certificate stamped and signed by authorised organisation confirming the dog’s special training.
  • Trained assistance dogs must be certified by an organisation that is a full member of:

Passengers with reduced eyesight are classed as Passengers with Disabilities (PWD) and require assistance, and so cannot book tickets online. Such passengers should book directly through TUS Call Centre on +357 24 200400, where one of our agents can take all the necessary details and arrange the booking.

Please also come to the airport well in advance, in order to go through all the necessary formalities without rushing.

All requirements and procedures for animal transportation before you fly shall be available, failure to produce the necessary documentation may lead to refusal of carriage.

Even if all the above are met depending on each type of animal to be transported, TUS Airways reserves the right to refuse carriage at any point of time due to operational or other reasons that may be present on the day and time of the specific flight at which the reservation was made.

IMPORTANT: Guide/assistance dog transportation is subject to the Carrier’s prior approval at least 48 hours before departure.

Guide/assistance dogs are carried free of charge, TUS Airways accepts up to 02 guide/assistance dogs per flight

Transportation of dogs and cats to Dubai are NOT accepted in cabin or aircraft hold

With the exception of specific breeds listed below, only cats and dogs [guide dogs included (see “Guide/Assistance Dogs” above)] can travel in the aircraft cabin with you.

These dogs have a fear to strange environments and may react under stress, they are unpredictable. Some animals will attempt to flee or attack, which may cause injuries to both the animals and the handler, whereas others are inclined to hide or stay still.

Additional Restrictions

Live animals may be carried in the passenger cabin on TUS Airways routes, provided that the local Government regulations and the IATA Live Animals Regulations are not contravened. All required export, import and/or transit health certificates, licenses or permits etc. shall accompany the animal and be presented during the check-in process.

The animal shall not be tranquilised without veterinary approval and supervision. (IATA recommends that no tranquilisers are administered to animals unless in circumstances of special need).

Puppies and kittens of up to 8 weeks of age are not allowed for transportation due to the possibility of dehydration during the flight;

Kittens under 12 weeks need a veterinary certificate confirming that they can be transported by air;

Cardboard cat boxes are NOT suitable for air transport and will not be accepted.

TUS Airways reserves the right to apply even stricter regulations and to refuse the booking on certain routes if necessary.
